Rockland ME Restaurants to Explore for Lunch

Rockland hosts several festivals including the Rockland Lobster Festival and the North Atlantic Blues Festival. Claws, Rockland’s Lobster Eatery

Open June-October, Claws is billed as Rockland’s Lobster Eatery. You can sit down at a picnic table and enjoy lobster any number of ways: in chowder, on a salad, on a sandwich, in mac ‘n cheese and even right out the shell dipped in melted butter. Just in case someone in your party isn’t in the mood for lobster, Claws also serves other seafood items, as well as chicken and beef. Claws is a “come as you are” restaurant with seating on the deck with a view of Rockland Harbor.

Blackboard Deli, Rockland

Located on Park Street in Rockland, the Blackboard Deli offers a varied lunch menu, including regular items and daily specials. If you’re feeling like a light meal, you can choose one of their house-made salads. Need a little more sustenance? The deli’s sandwich menu includes local favorites including their beer bread and bacon grilled cheese, which includes tomato and gruyere cheese, grilled on their own beer bread. If you’re in the mood for a pizza, the deli offers five pizzas from which to choose, plus the option to build your own! If you’ve really worked up an appetite check the daily specials for one of their signature burgers. They’re all piled high with delicious ingredients.

Home Kitchen Café, Rockland

Home Kitchen Café is open year-round and uses local and seasonal ingredients to create menu items including salads, sandwiches, soup, stir-fries, burritos (served on homemade tortillas) and quite a number of vegetarian items. They also serve meats that do not contain growth hormones or antibiotics. Located on Main Street in Rockland, Home Kitchen Café is convenient to most sites and activities in the area. Don’t forget to try one of Home Kitchen Café’s famous sticky buns.
